Tracy Chandler
Partner and Executive Producer |
Born and raised in Palm Springs, California, Tracy Chandler fell in love with skateboarding and snowboarding, and their cultures, at a very early age. After studying at Seattle's University of Washington, in 1998 she set up her own retail/lifestyle company named Faction, and in the course of operating and managing it, she began building her professional reputation in the film industry by shooting and editing skateboarding videos and commercials. Faction's success brought Tracy to the attention of the principals of Digital Kitchen, and in 2001, she joined its Seattle office as a producer. Over the next two years, she produced high-profile Super Bowl commercials -- as well as two major main title projects, both of which were nominated for Emmy Awards. Those experiences also introduced her to Andre Stringer and Jose Gomez, two uniquely successful filmmakers, designers and creative directors who shared her strong entrepreneurial spirit and her affinities for action sports, authentic marketing and brilliant audiovisual storytelling. After collaborating on numerous projects together, the trio launched their own production company. Shilo was officially born in 2004, with Jose operating from San Diego and Tracy and Andre moving east to open shop in New York City. With Tracy guiding the company's strategic marketing efforts and its growth, Shilo has been phenomenally successful. In 2005, its main titles for the Showtime series "Huff" won the Emmy Award, and the company has also built incredibly solid and longstanding relationships with some of the world's most dynamic brands and advertising agencies, winning some of the global advertising industry's highest honors along the way. Meanwhile, Shilo has also consistently created original works spanning all media forms, attracting a passionate following of artists and cultural thought leaders worldwide. Most recently, Tracy has spearheaded Shilo's evolution as a director-driven production company, growing the company's operations on both U.S. coasts with major new talents and business initiatives, and also leading the development of WMIG, a creative think-tank that complements and expands Shilo's capabilities. In its short history, WMIG has already created breakthrough marketing initiatives for Under Armour, Amazon.com, Team Detroit and many other major brands. For Tracy, among the achievements she's most proud of, she also currently lists being an active athlete, a wife and a mom. |
