August 20, 1994: Fourteen years ago…

Saturday Morning, Age 28

by Roger Darnell

film scheduling, scripts
friendly smiling caring people
making a TV show at network level
that’s funny, aspires to and achieves quality

music is lengthening its shadow
swilling a promising luminance
fingers tinkling atop the ivories
harmonies released at last

oh my aunts and uncles
the older friends of my parents
my grandparents my parents my siblings
dear friends dear strangers

every being exists for a purpose
recognized, taunted, lost, sold, claimed
taken for granted, lived to the fullest
it’s up to you and me my friends
