SIMON NEEDHAM
CO-FOUNDER, EXECUTIVE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
ATTIK, A Division of Dentsu Holdings USA
Born in Huddersfield in northern England, Simon Needham studied typography, photography and graphic composition at Batley School of Art, where he met fellow student and artist James Sommerville.  In 1986, leveraging a $1,500 loan from The Prince's Trust's Business Program, Simon and James joined forces to launch their design studio - which is today a renowned global creative agency with offices in Huddersfield, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles and global creative billings estimated at $30 million per year.  Since co-founding ATTIK, Simon has led ATTIK's expansion into multiple disciplines within the communications industry, from strategic brand planning and film direction to print, broadcast and web design.  In honor of their contributions to British Design, Simon and James were invited to meet The Queen of England and the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace in 2005.  Now based mainly on the U.S. West Coast, Simon serves as the firm's executive creative director and as creative director for the award-winning Scion account, among many others.  Continuing to drive the first-ever successful launch of a new car brand targeted specifically to young adults, since breaking nationally in the U.S. in 2004, Scion has largely redefined automotive marketing success.  With the campaign's print and broadcast elements (all of which Simon has directed or co-directed) having earned top international ad industry honors, Simon's creative expression on projects crossing all design disciplines continues to be phenomenal.  By virtue of Simon's and his colleagues' firmly established company ethos, ATTIK continues to attract the world's biggest brands, and the world’'s best creative talents.
